DEFINITION: A team’s success depends on the club and players’ ability to harness the power of “destiny” and/or collective belief (where this favours the team) and disrupt the power of destiny and/or collective belief (where this favours the opposition).
The outcome of these competing processes reflects the struggle between fate, as represented by the Moirai of Greek mythology, and those who would defeat fate (a power ascribed only to Zeus, though many Greek scholars claim even Zeus was powerless against the Moirai).
